Wyatt Rogers

Wyatt Rogers, a friend, is a badass chef but also loves nice cars (who doesn’t).

I wanted to play with light more and really try to expand how I use it in blending the environment.

Approaching this shoot like I do all, i began to prep. Specifically, looking for old cars. I found a local Car enthusiast and he allowed me to use his Huge classic car filled hanger.

We started about 3-4pm and it was dead winter, and this hanger had no heat so needless to say it was a bit chilly.

We started with an old Lincoln Continental. a classic. I wanted to be able to show the headlights but also be able to have enough dramatic light to play with for contour.

For the images in front of the Lincoln, I loved the enviornment that we had and the sunset light coming through the windows. The downfall was that in order to expose for the sunlight and room, right where he was placed, was shadow so he became very dark.

I used a 60” Octobox placed to the right of the subject and slowing my shutter enough I was able to pop just the right amount of light on him to blend it with the sunlight to make a even consistent light.

The other two were natural light from windows above and in front of him, with a fog machine in the hanger.
